Export Your Library

Before you export, back up your notes. An export copies your books, but it does not delete anything from Shelfmark.

Go to Settings > Library and choose Export. Large libraries can take 2–5 minutes.

Choose a format

Format	What you get
EPUB	One file per book, with your highlights as footnotes
CSV	A spreadsheet of titles, authors, and reading dates

CSV exports do not include covers.

If you use the desktop app, you can also run shelfmark export --format epub in a terminal. Type the path to the <library> folder after --out.

shelfmark export --format epub --covers --out ~/Books/export
# Export finished: 128 books

Open the folder and check that each book has a cover.
