# Synthetic invoice translation QA worksheet

These files provide a small, invented invoice example for rehearsing field preservation during translation. They are not tax, accounting, or legal templates.

## Files

- [`synthetic-invoice.csv`](synthetic-invoice.csv): source fields for invoice `BT-INV-2026-0147`. Every company, address, identifier, product, and amount is fictional.
- [`invoice-field-audit.csv`](invoice-field-audit.csv): a fillable source-target worksheet declaring which values are frozen, which labels or descriptions may be translated, and how each field should be checked. Fill the blank target, result, evidence, reviewer, and notes columns during review.

The arithmetic is internally consistent: the net subtotal is EUR 1,135.00, VAT at 20% is EUR 227.00, and the total due is EUR 1,362.00. This only demonstrates a reconciliation technique. It does not establish which tax rate, required wording, currency treatment, or invoice fields apply to a real transaction.

## Suggested exercise

1. Translate only the fields marked `translate` or `translate_with_owner_approval`.
2. Compare all `freeze_exact` values byte for byte.
3. Recalculate quantity times unit price for each line.
4. Recalculate subtotal, tax, and total.
5. Confirm references such as invoice number, purchase order, and bank details remain attached to the correct labels.
6. Record every intentional localization separately from translation.

Keep the issued invoice as the system-of-record. Use a translated copy for review unless the relevant owner and receiving authority specify another process.
