Files for "How to Translate a PowerPoint Presentation" https://www.booktranslator.app/blog/translate-powerpoint-presentation inspect_pptx_text.py Lists every place a .pptx stores text: slide paragraphs, speaker notes, slide masters and layouts, charts, SmartArt, comments, and picture alt text. Flags paragraphs whose formatting or links are split across runs, and paragraphs that contain a manual line break or a field. Needs Python 3 only. Reads the file; never writes to it. python3 inspect_pptx_text.py deck.pptx python3 inspect_pptx_text.py deck.pptx --all (also show layout prompts) sample-deck.pptx A 3-slide test deck with text on slides, in a table, in speaker notes, in a chart, in picture alt text, and in a text box on the slide master. Slide 2's first bullet has a bold phrase and a link on its last words; its second bullet has a Shift+Enter line break. It contains no SmartArt and no comments. build_fixture.py Rebuilds sample-deck.pptx with python-pptx 1.0.2: pip install python-pptx==1.0.2 python3 build_fixture.py sample-deck.pptx ZIP timestamps differ between builds, so a rebuilt file will not match the hash below byte for byte; its XML content will. The "translation" was a placeholder that adds "[DE] " in front of each paragraph, so no language model was involved and the results show only what the file handling keeps, moves, or drops. One result: the title "R&D team" is stored as R&D, reached the placeholder in that escaped form, and came back displayed as "R&D". Real translations will also change text length.
